The Life Interview

A life interview is a foundational conversation I conduct at the start of a leadership coaching engagement. It gives me a holistic understanding of your background, values, motivations, and significant life experiences that have shaped your leadership style. This interview sets the stage for our coaching journey, helping us identify key growth areas, leverage your strengths, and address potential challenges. It creates a personalized roadmap that aligns your life story with your leadership development goals.

The Hogan Personality Assessment and Debrief - The Hogan Personality Assessment is a valuable tool in my coaching process, providing a comprehensive view of your personality, potential derailers, and underlying values. It helps me tailor my approach, enhance your self-awareness, and guide the development process with data-driven insights. Unlike other assessments, the Hogan reveals not only how you perceive yourself but also how others view you, giving a deeper understanding of your impact and areas for improvement.

360 Interviews - I conduct 360 interviews as a qualitative assessment method to gather feedback about your behavior, strengths, and areas for development from various sources, including peers, direct reports, supervisors, and other stakeholders. These interviews offer a well-rounded perspective on how you are perceived across different contexts and relationships. As a powerful tool in the coaching process, 360 interviews provide actionable insights and a solid foundation for tailored leadership development.

The Summary - Once I complete these processes, I will provide you with a summary that includes the data and evidence we've discussed. We will highlight emerging trends and potential areas for improvement, allowing us to identify specific focus areas.

Constructing a Development Plan - I take all gathered information into account and focus on the areas you want to change. This includes goal-setting, action planning, defining success, and establishing time frames and strategies to help you progress from point A to B to C.

The Work - Each session begins with me defining the focus and identifying your desired outcomes. We will explore your experiences and the obstacles you perceive in moving forward. As your coach, I actively listen to gain insights into your perspective while maintaining a broad view to highlight new possibilities. I engage you with powerful questions and intuitive insights, challenging assumptions and biases while offering observations to broaden your thinking.

As your coach, - I will push and stretch you in ways only an objective professional can. I will provide unwavering support while holding you accountable for your progress. Instead of providing answers, I will guide and empower you to find your own solutions and help you implement them.

Between sessions, - you will work on action steps, and I may provide assessments as needed to deepen your understanding and unlock further potential. Throughout the journey, you can expect complete confidentiality, no judgment, and many ‘aha’ moments.
